Cities & blossoms
March–May

Spring

The sweet spot for cities. Washington DC’s cherry blossoms peak in late March, New York is warm without being humid, and California is green before the summer dries it out. Shoulder-season prices, comfortable walking weather, and shorter queues at everything.

Peak · parks open
June–August

Summer

Peak season, and the only realistic window for the national parks Yellowstone, Yosemite, Glacier and the Rockies are fully open and the days are long. Expect heat in the South and Southwest, crowds everywhere, and the year’s highest airfares. Also the busiest interview period, so start early.

Reader favourite
September–November

Autumn

Many travellers’ favourite. New England’s foliage turns through late September and October, the Northeast is crisp and clear, and the summer crowds have gone home. Great value on flights and hotels, and reliable weather across most of the country.

Quiet & cheap
December–February

Winter

For skiing in Colorado and Utah, sunshine in Florida, Arizona and southern California, and the cities at their most atmospheric. The Northeast and Midwest get genuinely cold, and holiday-season flights sell out early but January and February are the quietest, cheapest weeks of the year to visit.

Work backwards, not forwards. Consulate interview slots are the bottleneck, not the paperwork start your application three to six months before you intend to travel, and don’t book non-refundable flights until your visa is in your passport.

Questions about United States

Things people always ask.

How long does a United States visa take?

Our side takes 7–15 working days: that’s your DS-160, cover letter, itinerary, reservations and the full document pack, prepared and ready to submit. The timeline after that belongs to the consulate interview slots can open within weeks or take several months depending on your city and the time of year, and passports are usually returned within 3–7 working days of an approval. We check current wait times for your location before you pay us anything, so you plan against real dates.

How long will my US visa be valid?

The B1/B2 visitor visa is typically issued as a multiple-entry visa valid for up to ten years. Validity is set by the consular officer, and the length of each individual visit is decided by the border officer when you arrive. One approval covers a decade of travel.

Is travel insurance mandatory?

It isn’t a legal requirement for a US visitor visa but the United States has some of the most expensive healthcare in the world, and a single hospital admission without cover can run into six figures. We strongly recommend it, we can arrange it, and it also strengthens the picture of a well-planned trip.

Can I apply online?

The DS-160 is completed online, and fee payments and appointment scheduling happen through the official portal. Almost all applicants must still attend biometrics and an in-person interview at a US embassy or consulate. If you’ve held a US visa recently, you may qualify for the interview waiver route we check your eligibility before we book anything.

Do I need to attend an interview?

Most first-time applicants do. Renewals may qualify for the interview waiver (Dropbox) programme if the previous visa is recent enough and in the same category. We assess this on day one it can save you months.

What if my visa is refused?

The most common refusal is under section 214(b): the officer wasn’t convinced you’d return home. It isn’t a ban, and you can reapply. Our clients get a complete refusal review, a rebuilt file, and a documented strategy for the next attempt.

How much does the whole thing cost?

Our service fee is fixed at $399. Government fees are paid separately we’ll give you the exact current figures before you start, with nothing hidden.

Can you guarantee my visa will be approved?

No, and you should be careful of anyone who says otherwise. Visa decisions rest entirely with the US Department of State. What we can do is make sure your application is complete, consistent, correctly documented and well presented which is what most refusals come down to.

Can you apply for my whole family?

Yes. Family and group applications are handled together, with a single case manager, coordinated appointment slots and one consolidated fee.
