Special category and sensitive information

Some of the information involved in a visa application is particularly sensitive, and may include details that reveal your nationality or ethnic origin, or biometric or identity information. Where we handle information of this kind, we rely on your explicit consent, which you give us so that we can carry out your application. You can withdraw that consent at any time, although this may mean we are no longer able to continue with your application.

Who we share your information with

We only share your information where it is necessary to deliver your service or where the law requires it. This may include:

Embassies, consulates and visa decision authorities.
Visa application and appointment centres, such as VFS Global, BLS or TLScontact.
Payment providers who process your payment to us.
Professional advisers and service providers who help us run our business, under strict confidentiality.
Authorities or regulators where we are legally required to disclose information.

We never sell your personal information to anyone.

International transfers

Visa applications by their nature often involve sending your information to embassies, consulates or authorities based outside the Canada. Where your information is transferred abroad as part of your application, that transfer is a necessary part of the service you have asked us to provide. We take care to share only what the relevant authority requires.

We keep your information only for as long as we need it to provide your service, to meet our legal and regulatory duties, and to deal with any queries or disputes that may arise afterwards.
